The Enterprise 3 spent most of its early working life in the peat industry in the North of England. It as also used during the building of the Channel Tunnel. The locomotive was fully reconditioned by Alan Keef Ltd, Locomotive Builders & Light Railway Engineers, Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, United Kingdom in 2000. WSVR Purchased it in 2001 to operate as its main locomotive.

The Hunslet Locomotive was manufactured by the Hunslet Steam Company, Statfold Barn Farm, Tamworth, Staffordshire, UK. The wheelbase and bogies are from a Bord na Mona Rustin LM 96 Locomotive.

The LM 348 was built in 1980 for Bord Na Mona. After over 20 years’ service on the Bord na Mona bogs it was very kindly donated to Waterford Suir Valley Railway in 2005. The locomotive was then fitted with an air compressor to allow it operate the carriages.
Carriages
The train is comprised of a locomotive and two carriages. There are four open compartments for 24/30 adults each of which are divided into separate compartment with “toast rack” style seating. There is toughened glass in a wooden frame separating each compartment to give privacy. Each carriage has an enclosed saloon with door entry off the balcony end with seating for 12/14 adults.
The end open compartment on each carriage has wider access to accommodate wheelchair passengers.
The carriage were manufactured for Waterford Suir Valley Railway by Alan Keef Ltd, Locomotive Builders & Light Railway Engineers, Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, United Kingdom in 2000.
