Step back in time to 1878 with a nostalgic journey on board  Ireland’s longest Narrow-Gauge Railway . Relax on the platform with  a glass of Prosecco and strawberries while enjoying an acoustic music reception. Board the train and be escorted to private carriage with a picnic box full of delicious seasonal and locally produced culinary delights from award winning Grow HQ Café, Waterford to enjoy. Hear the whistle blow as the train departs on a one hour trip to Bilberry, along the banks of the River Suir and Waterford Greenway abound with glorious scenery, historic ruins, birds and wildlife.  On the return journey, watch the sun set over the river Suir and rolling countryside of Waterford and South Kilkenny.

So many people have requested to experience the entire 10km return journey from Kilmeadan Station to Bilberry Station.  The Sunset Express is the perfect, relaxing way to experience both the railway and Waterford Greenway.  It is very popular with adult groups, social clubs, hen parties and landmark birthdays as part of the evening celebrations. 

The Sunset Express is only available for  group bookings. A minimum group of 30 is required.
