The Rolling Stock
The train is made up of a loco and two carriages. Each carriage is divided up into six compartments. A fully enclosed sharing Compartment (1A and 1B) and (12A and 12B). Four partially enclosed compartments (2 to 4) and (5 to 9). Compartment 4 and 5 are both Wheelchair accessible. You will be travelling at approximately 16km per hour near a river, so there will be a breeze
Wear warm clothes as most to the compartments are partially open.
Check in to the Ticket Office when you arrive to receive your map of the route and Treasure Hunt for children.
Small dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Arrive at least 10 minutes before your train departure time as the trains depart on time.
April and September
- Monday to Saturday: 11am to 3pm
- Sunday: 12noon to 4pm
May to August
- Monday to Saturday: 11am to 4pm
- Sunday: 12noon to 5pm
February and October Mid term Break
- Monday to Saturday: 11am to 3pm
- Sunday: 12noon to 4pm
Facilities at Kilmeadan Station
Car Park at Kilmeadan Station, including designated disabled and coach parking spaces. The ticket office is a converted Irish Rail Coach with a gift shop and indoor seating Whistlestop Café – serving refreshments, fresh and toasted sandwiches, Annette’s Bakehouse cakes, snacks and 99 ice cream. Outdoor seating.

Friends Membership
If you plan to visit more than once within the year, it may be advisable to become a Family Friend of Waterford Suir Valley Railway.
Pay an annual membership of €90.00 to become a Family Friend. Visit as often as you like any day on regular schedule trips 1st April to 30th September, also for the February Mid-Term Break. (Excluding Special Events)
